Pr. Xiaowu Li
MD, Ph.D, Chief Physician, Professor Chief of Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery General Hospital of Shenzhen University. His major research interest focus on Tumor microenvironment – Tumor interstitial cells, Extracellular matrix of tumor and Surface receptors of tumor cell in regulating pancreatic cancer metastasis, he has got different projects like:
- Exosomes of pancreatic cancer in initiating pre-metastatic niche formation in the liver.
- Mechanisms of platelet-stimulated pancreatic cancer metastasis.
- Biomechanical and biochemical remodeling of stromal extracellular matrix in pancreatic cancer.
- Interaction between carcinoma cells and cancer associated fibroblasts for the regulation of pancreatic cancer invasion and metastasis.
Pr. Bigini Paolo
Unit Head of Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Researcher in Milan, Italy for Nanobiology Tutoring of PhD and graduate students. Writing and reviewing of both manuscripts and project proposals. Planning and coordination of experiments in the field of Imaging and Bio-Nano interaction. Member of internal committee for the evaluation of animal projects.
Pr. Giovanni Sitia
He is Group Leader at IRCCS San Raffaele Scientific Institute Italy Milan. He is specialized in Liver Tumors, began working in the field of viral hepatitis as a medical student at the University of Milan (Italy). During his MD specialization (2004) in Infectious Diseases he spent two years at The Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla) characterizing for the first time the role of neutrophils and MMPs in the pathogenesis of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. He returned to Milan, where he worked in the Department of Immunology of San Raffaele Scientific Institute, continuing to work on various aspects of HBV immune-pathogenesis. Dr. Sitia then moved (2008) in the Department of Gastroenterology, Graduate School of Medicine, Kanazawa University, Kanazawa, Japan as a Visiting Scientist to learn new immunological tools necessary for his research. In 2008 he moved back in Milan where he started new research activities in the field of HBV induced HCC as well as in the liver metastasis field. His current research at San Raffaele Scientific Institute is focused on the development of new preventive or curative strategies for primary and secondary liver tumors.
Pierre Nahon
Professor Nahon’s research interests focus on the complications of cirrhosis, in particular hepatocellular carcinoma. He is the Scientific Coordinator of the French National Agency for Research on AIDS and Viral Hepatitis CO12 CirVir cohort, which is a prospective follow-up of nearly 1800 patients with compensated viral cirrhosis in 35 centres across France. This cohort allowed the achievement of numerous publications since 2015 in major international journals such as Journal of Hepatology, Hepatology, Gut and Gastroenterology.
Professor Nahon is also the co-Coordinator of a GWAs within the Genetic work package of the French Hepatocellular Carcinoma Multi-technological Project (HECAM). More recently, he obtained funding for the implementation of a multicentric Phase 2 trial testing the efficacy of combining percutaneous electroporation with neo- and adjuvant immunotherapy for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
He has published 146 scientific articles in the international journal.

Chef Direction of clinical research and Innovation (DRCI) – Bordeaux Hospital. Pr Jean-Frédéric BLANC’s Research topics focus in the Rectum Cancers, liver cancers and pancreatic cancers, endocrine tumors. Hepatic fibrosis, viral hepatitis, metabolic steatopathy (NASH). Chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Digestive pathology and functional explorations.
He has published 217 scientific articles in the international journal.
Pr Mario Balzanelli
Director of the Complex Structure of Medicine and Surgery of Acceptance and Urgency at the Provincial Operational Center of the 118 System in Taranto Italy. Since 2006 until now, he is Scientific Director of the Single Training Center for Health Emergency of the and Scientific Coordinator at ASL Taranto.
From 2015 to 2017 he was President designate SIS 118 (Italian Society 118 System).
From 2013 to 2015 he was National Secretary SIS 118 (Italian Society 118 System) In the period January 2004 – April 2005Health Emergency Consultant of the ASL BA / 1 – General Manager Vito Verrecchia. From 1/1/2002 to 21/11/2002 1st level Medical Director – competition winner, 1st in ranking – UOC First Aid Medicine and Surgery of Acceptance and Urgency Hospital SS. He has published more than 30 articles in the international journals. Recently he has applied a patent with Dr Jolanda Spadavecchia for Bioeven in the cancer therapy. Now he joins our scientific Committee.
